ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is an association that offers a global certification of “Chartered Certified Accountant,” currently having more than 240000 members and 540000+ students and affiliates, while CA (Chartered Accountant) is a local certificate offered by ICAP in Pakistan, with over 8000 members present.
Summery CA vs ACCA
If we talk about subject streams, both of the certifications cater to taxation, accounting, auditing, finance, financial analysis, etc. ACCA and CA both require three years of articleship to practise their theoretical knowledge. Another factor that is similar to both certifications is their demand.
From my perspective, there are some aspects that better differentiate ACCA from CA.
ACCA is recognised in more than 180 countries, which strengthens its worth in the international as well as local market.
While pursuing ACCA, one can get HEC-recognised degrees like BSC and MSC from the prestigious universities of England, Oxford Brooks University and the University of London, respectively.
ACCA is a debatably more advanced, flexible, and structured certificate.
It is covers all those regulations that are accepted internationally.
It provides students with the most up-to-date skills and knowledge that they need to become an accounting professional.
ACCA has, for so long, been putting its efforts into bringing flexibility into the lives of people who pursue it.
ACCA conducts all of its exams as CBEs, which stand for computer-based examinations, which show their concern for technology and the flexibility that it has incorporated into our lives. CBEs allow students to take exams anytime, on their exam dates, four times a year, at their own pace. There’s no specified exam combination to take in any specific attempt. One can take it according to their own choice.
There’s no time barrier to completing exams immediately.
ACCA itself provides exam support materials, technical articles and past papers, practise to pass webinars, and much more for the student’s guide.
There’s no specific requirement to get enrolled in an institute; with a bit of effort, one can study on their own through ACCA’s approved learning material providers’ study texts and practise kits, etc.
ACCA ensures that its members are in continuous development throughout their lives.
Its time frame is one of its biggest advantages, as it can be completed in 3–4 years on average.
All these benefits make this certificate flexible and worth it for students to pursue.
ACCA opens up a world of exciting opportunities for its members in their competitive markets. It is truly an investment that is going to be worth it in the near future.
